As announced, Apple has also entered Black Friday today and, after an extended break from the official Apple Online Store, has now also put its “Special Shopping Event” live in Germany. The promotion, which runs today through November 28, rewards purchases of eligible Apple products with additional gift cards, which provide a backdoor discount.
Prices set in stone
Apple itself is known for setting its own prices, granting almost no discounts and leaving the street price determination to retailers and authorized resellers.
To still be able to play Black Friday, there is an “Apple Gift Card”. In other words, if you buy a qualifying Apple product from a qualifying Apple retailer, you can grab a gift card (while supplies last) and then get a discount equal to the value of the gift card.
Sounds complicated, but it is quickly explained: if you buy an iPhone 13, iPhone 12 or iPhone SE, you will receive a gift voucher worth 50 euros.
There are gift cards for AirPods worth from 25 euros to 75 euros. There are gift vouchers for iPads from 30 euros to 50 euros. Depending on the model, gift cards worth between 100 and 250 euros are available for the purchase of a Mac.
However, not all Apple devices are included in the campaign, only qualified devices. Only the Apple Watch SE can be purchased with a voucher, only the iPad Air, the iPad mini and the 9th generation iPad.
After all: when it comes to AirPods, all models are available and the popular MacBooks Air with M1 and M2 chips are also included. The Apple promotion runs until Monday.
