macOS 13.2 can be downloaded ›jojo Reviews

Along with iOS 16.3, Apple also released the second major update to macOS Ventura today. Following macOS Ventura 13.1 in mid-December, version 13.2 is now available for download from the system settings and hopefully fixes the OS bugs that have been seen more often in recent weeks, which also gave us the Freeform application, among other things.

Support for hardware security keys

The hope that Apple will focus on bug fixes and stability improvements is based, among other things, on the fact that the point update of the desktop operating system almost completely dispenses with visible changes. Only using hardware security keys for additional protection of one’s own iCloud account is one of macOS 13.2’s well-known functional improvements.

Since its release, macOS Ventura has struggled with numerous mostly minor bugs that create a colorful mess of ugly nickels. These include a noticeable lag in Apple’s mail application, problems connecting multiple external monitors, incorrect display of desktop objects, and missing software updates from the list of available updates.

Many bug fixes are expected

What Apple has already announced: macOS 13.2 will ensure that background processes are registered correctly in the system again. Duplicate references to new app registrations should be avoided in the future.

Apple recently revised the system settings and reintegrated the network environments that have since disappeared into it. In addition, macOS 13.1 corrected perceived WLAN issues. Since then, the search for AirDrop partners no longer causes the short-term outages of the wireless network connections.

Update folder from Apple

This update introduces improved privacy for iCloud, security keys for the Apple ID, and other improvements and bug fixes for your Mac.

  • Advanced Data Protection for iCloud includes more iCloud data categories (23 in total) protected with end-to-end encryption, including iCloud backups, notes, and photos. Your data is therefore also protected in the event of a data breach in the cloud.
  • Apple ID Security Keys allow users to increase the security of their account by requiring a physical security key to sign in.
  • Resolves an issue in Freeform where some lines drawn with Apple Pencil or your finger may not appear on shared boards.
  • Fixed an issue where VoiceOver stopped providing audio feedback while typing.
