DaVinci Resolve and Affinity Publisher for iPad coming later this year ›jojo Reviews

At the presentation of the new generation iPad Pro, Apple already announced that the applications DaVinci Resolve and Affinity Publisher, which are aimed at professional use, will appear in versions for the iPad later this year. Blackmagic Design, the developers of the video editing software DaVinci Resolve, have now become a little more specific in this regard and the official announcement already contains plenty of details about the upcoming offer.

DaVinci Resolve for iPad

Blackmagic Design promises to create video workflows on the go with DaVinci Resolve for iPad. The software creates regular DaVinci Resolve project files, which are also compatible with the desktop version of DaVinci Resolve version 18. The file formats H.264, H.265, Apple ProRes and Blackmagic RAW are supported and the video clips can be imported from the internal memory from the iPad Pro, the Photos app, or via externally connected USB-C storage media and via iCloud .

Although DaVinci Resolve for iPad doesn’t have the word “Pro” in its name, the app appears, at least in large part, to be specifically tailored for the last two generations of iPad Pro with Apple processors. According to the developers, the application has been specially optimized for these chips and delivers up to four times faster renderings in Ultra HD ProRes on the new iPad Pro models with M2 processor.
