Calendar 366 II and HazeOver now with focus filters on the Mac › jojo Reviews

The Calendar 366 II menu bar calendar supports macOS Ventura’s focus filters in the recently released version 2.13. Anyone using Apple’s focus modes on the Mac can now specify in the advanced settings for them how the calendar app behaves and which calendar groups should be displayed with it.

With the focus modes, Apple offers not only on iOS devices but also on the Mac the possibility to define work environments in which, for example, distractions are reduced for optimal concentration and only selected messages are allowed.

With the so-called focus filters, the behavior of the integrated apps can be configured in more detail. Apple’s standard applications such as Safari, Messages, Mail and Calendar were the first to do so, and now developers of third-party applications can equip their apps with the right features.

Like Apple’s calendar app, where the filter function can be used to hide notifications from selected calendars based on focus modes, the Calendar 366 III now also offers a corresponding feature. The corresponding configuration is done through the “Focus” area in the Mac system preferences.

Calendar 366 II can be downloaded for free from the developer’s website to try out. The full version of the application is available directly from the developer for EUR 14.99 or EUR 17.99 via the Mac App Store.

Also HazeOver with focus filters

The Mac app HazeOver has also been equipped with support for focus filters since the last update. HazeOver aims to provide greater clarity when using the Mac by darkening application windows in the background to emphasize the active app windows in the foreground.

Here too, a free trial version can be downloaded from the developers. In addition, the app, which is otherwise offered for EUR 2.49, is included in the Setapp software for a flat rate at no extra cost.
