A strong introduction to a project will immediately grab the reader’s attention and set the tone for the rest of the work. It should provide context, provide an overview of the subject, and explain why it is important. This introduction should also answer the questions “what”, “why” and “how”.
The project I am introducing is a research project on the topic of mental health in society. Mental health is increasingly becoming a pressing issue in many countries around the world, with the World Health Organisation attributing mental illness with the largest burden of disability. The research project will examine the prevalence of mental health conditions, the impact of mental health on individuals, communities and the economy, and the current approaches to addressing the issue. It will also look into the effectiveness of existing programs and policies for promoting positive mental health and reducing stigma associated with mental health conditions.
The primary objectives of this project are to identify gaps in knowledge and understanding of
